Basketball Program

APRD in conjuction with other county organizations host a basketball program for 3 year olds to 6th graders. Mini Bears (3 year olds to Kindergarten) introduces the players to the rules & skills of basketball, Little Bears (1st & 2nd grade) build on the skills while Bears on the Move (3rd to 6th grade) works on preparing the players to play in Jr High. Grades 2nd to 6th travel to Maxwell & Colusa. The program runs late October to Early February.

Tot Tumbling

Tot Tumbling sessions are run twice a year, once in Spring and once in Fall at the APRD Office Building for 18 months to 3 years, and 3 to 5 years old.  Sessions are done separately so that each group can work on age appropriate motor skills. This program gives children a foundation that helps develop strength, coordination, self-esteem all while interacting with their peers. Children are encouraged to move at their own speed.

T-Ball Clinics & Coach Pitch

The T-ball clinic & Coach Pitch program runs in the Spring for 5 to 7 year olds. It is designed to teach the basics of baseball: how to catch and throw a ball, how to hit a ball and where the positions are on the baseball field. Players will practice once a week with the APRD staff and then play games on Saturday mornings. Emphasis is placed on movement, having fun and learning sportsmanship.

Swimming Lessons

Swim Lessons are held in June and July at the Arbuckle Swimming Pool. Swim Lessons are designed to help kids learn and improve stroke techniques, acquire safety skills, and increase water comfort. Classes include: Parent-Tot (Age 2 and under), Beginner (Age 2 & up), Intermediate, and Advance Swimmer with morning and evening lessons available.

Swim Team

**NO SWIM CLUB IN ARBUCKLE THIS YEAR. FOR SWIM TEAM NEARBY VISIT & INQUIRE WITH COLUSA SWIM TEAM**

The Arbuckle Tidal Waves Swim Club (ages 4-18) trains and competes in June and July at the Arbuckle Swimming Pool. Participants must be able to swim two laps without stopping. Emphasis is placed on technique, speed and endurance. The Swim Team will be broken up into groups by skill level: Beginner I, Beginner II, Intermediate and Advanced.

Junior Guard

**NO SWIMMING LESSONS IN ARBUCKLE THIS YEAR. FOR PROGRAM NEARBY VISIT & INQUIRE WITH WILLIAMS PARKS & RECREATION**

Junior Guard program runs in June and July at the Arbuckle Swimming Pool. Participants Ages 10-18 years old will review swimming techniques, and basic lifesaving skills. Emphasis will be placed on safety, respect, and physical fitness. This program is free of charge.

Tennis Camp

Tennis Camp is held during summer at the Pierce High School Tennis Courts. The program is designed to help children learn and improve their tennis game, work hard, and make new friends, all while having fun! Open to ALL ages, Kindergarten and up.  No previous tennis experience or equipment required.

Open Gym

Open Gym is a seasonal free program for 6th through 12th Graders. The program is designed to help children live active and healthy lifestyles while practicing skills and having fun! This program is openand free to current Pierce Joint Unified School District students only.
